Information Collection and Use
DC Enhancements built Nostalgience as a mobile application. This service is provided by DC Enhancements and is intended for use as is.
The app may process technical or account-related data required to deliver its features, keep the service secure, and resolve support issues. We limit collection to the minimum necessary for the feature you actively use.
- Library/file metadata, persistent document links, saves, screenshots, settings, controller layouts, pairing state, transfer history and diagnostics are stored locally for the features you choose.
- DCE support/core/update downloads can send IP address, user agent, requested resource, timestamps, error status and download metadata to DC Enhancements infrastructure.
- Optional cover-art lookup can send title/platform data in a request path to GitHub/Libretro thumbnail hosting.
- Nostasync sends selected session content and device/network data directly to the LAN device you deliberately pair.
- Google Play Integrity may process installation/app-integrity information for anti-tamper checks.
Permissions
The app may request the following Android permissions to provide its features:
android.permission.INTERNET— connect to online services that provide core app functionalityandroid.permission.ACCESS_NETWORK_STATE— detect whether a network connection is available before contacting remote servicesandroid.permission.CHANGE_WIFI_MULTICAST_STATE— support a user-facing feature that depends on this Android permissionandroid.permission.BLUETOOTH— support a user-facing feature that depends on this Android permissionandroid.permission.BLUETOOTH_ADMIN— support a user-facing feature that depends on this Android permissionandroid.permission.BLUETOOTH_CONNECT— connect to nearby Bluetooth accessories selected by the userandroid.permission.BLUETOOTH_SCAN— support a user-facing feature that depends on this Android permissionandroid.permission.VIBRATE— support a user-facing feature that depends on this Android permissionandroid.permission.RECORD_AUDIO— capture microphone audio for user-facing audio features
Third-Party Services
The app does not intentionally rely on third-party analytics, ads, or payment SDKs beyond the services required to distribute the app through Google Play.
Ads and In-App Purchases
The app does not include advertising and does not process in-app purchases unless this policy is updated to state otherwise.
Data Retention
Library entries, saves, screenshots, settings, persistent document links, paired-device state and logs remain locally until you delete them or remove Android app data. Cache files are removed after 7 days and temporary Nostasync session files after 18 hours. App data is excluded from Android cloud backup and device-to-device transfer. Server request logs are retained only as needed for delivery, security, abuse prevention and troubleshooting.
Children's Privacy
Nostalgience is an emulator front-end/runtime utility and is not directed to children under 13. Parents should note that game-library data and Nostasync transfers remain local or are deliberately shared with a paired device.
Local Library, Files and Storage Access
Nostalgience stores local library entries, selected file/folder document links, file names and paths, checksums, file size, platform/core selection, artwork, favorites, play time and session times, saves, screenshots, controller layouts, cheats, settings, paired devices and transfer history. File or folder access is granted only when you select it through Android's picker and can persist until you remove the link in the app or remove app data. The app does not automatically back up or transfer these app data through Android cloud backup.
DCE Downloads, GitHub Artwork and Technical Logs
When you request signed DCE core packs, support data, updates or app resources, Nostalgience contacts DC Enhancements infrastructure. Normal server logs can include IP address, user agent, requested resource, timestamps, error status and download metadata. Optional automatic cover-art lookup can request a title and platform path from GitHub/Libretro thumbnail hosting; the request can expose normal network metadata and title/platform data in the URL path. Runtime logs and crash reports are created locally and can contain paths, file names and error details; they are not automatically uploaded, but are shared with a chosen recipient if you explicitly use a share action.
Nostasync and Local Network Transfers
Nostasync lets you deliberately pair a device on your local network. Depending on the feature you choose, ROM files, saves, settings, layouts, cheats, screenshots, device names/IP addresses, pairing/trust state, input events and frame/audio streams can be transferred to that paired device. Local hosted-session and streaming paths use local sockets and HTTP; do not assume end-to-end encryption. DC Enhancements does not operate a public multiplayer or cloud-save service for these LAN sessions.
Permissions and Play Integrity
Bluetooth/Nearby Devices supports compatible controllers; Bluetooth scan is not used to derive physical location. Optional microphone input is used only when an emulator core/game feature requires it. Vibration supports haptics. Network, multicast, foreground/background maintenance and boot-related permissions support local discovery, transfers and scheduled local maintenance. Google Play Integrity may request installation/app-integrity data for anti-tamper checks. Nostalgience has no ads, subscriptions or in-app purchases.
Legal Content Boundary
Nostalgience does not include, sell or provide commercial games, ROMs, BIOS files or ROM downloads. You are responsible for importing only content you are legally entitled to use.
